“We have been to the Tequila twice now, once in 2006 when it was “Thomson Platinum” and once again in 2010. We love it and was just as good if not better second time around – the beach is wider now and you can stay for lunch at the Riu Yucatan. The food in general is “Just Wow”. In the main restaurant the selection is huge so we ended up with loads of different things. The Asian and the steak restaurant are brilliant. The Asian does great sushi and the fried ice cream desert cannot be missed.”

The Riu Tequila is in Playacar a private hotel zone, with an 18-hole golf course. The garden of the Tequila is adjacent to the golf course. The beach which you can reach under your own steam also runs a golf cart shuttle (several times daily, without charge). To the adjacent, lively resort of Playa del Carmen is around 3 km. To Cancún it is approximately 60 km.
